Almost Instant Fruit Sorbet

By Sandy Hu

At Special Fork, we’re committed to quick and easy cooking. So we thought we’d just take our Flip camera into our own kitchen and show you what we mean.

Easier said than done!

In my career, I’ve worked with many chefs on TV cooking demos and it’s easy when you’re telling others what to do. It’s a billion times harder to be in front of the camera than behind it, as I’ve painfully discovered.

We are starting with a super-simple recipe for fruit sorbet made with canned fruit and a little liqueur. The sorbet tastes surprisingly like fresh — so much so that it was featured in The New York Times when the recipe was first developed. It’s a recipe we used when I worked for the agency that promotes the Canned Food Alliance. It takes no time, no effort, and the sorbet is quite delicious. Try it and see for yourself!

This is our first video and it’s terribly amateurish, so we beg your indulgence.

We will try to do a video every Friday to share other easy recipes you might like. We can only get better.

Special Fork bloggers blog Monday through Friday. For more recipes and ideas on your smartphone, check us out at www.specialfork.com. Join the conversation on Facebook and follow us on Twitter @specialforksndy.

Hi Sandy,

This was a great video recipe for a cold desert snack! You did a good job in making it look easy to do. I will try it.

Aloha!
